Decision could come any time for Reuben Jones

Following the official visit to Nebraska in September Reuben Jones said that he would have his decision a few days after his last official visit in November. A few days after that official visit and Jones could decide at any moment, but now he thinks he might know when he might announce.

Lakeland (Flor.) Lake Gibson defensive end Reuben Jones appears to be nearing a decision. The 6-foot-3 and 223-pound, three-star prospect is back from a recent trip to Michigan State and the plan had been to announce a commitment after his trips. That might be delayed a bit since he and his team are headed into the playoffs.

"We are in the playoffs," Jones said. "We play South Fort Myers tomorrow night. We are ready to play tomorrow night."

While Jones and his teammates are ready for their first round playoff game it's clear Jones hasn't figured out when he wants to announce his college decision.

"Things are going good for me, but I am not sure when I am going to commit. It could be tonight. It could be tomorrow. It could be the end of the season.

"To be honest, this is all becoming a little too much and I really want to focus on the rest of the season. I am thinking that I will announce my commitment at the end of the season."

While Jones was in Nebraska he got to see the player that he drew comparisons to by the coaches. At the end of the visit Jones like the comparisons and also thought that the Huskers' defense was a great fit for him.

"Randy Gregory is good! That man is good. He had No. 44 last year and that's my number. I was told a number of times that people thought I played like him. I could dominate on that line.

"I know that I can get after the quarterback. My cover skills now -- we don't cover a lot unless it's a screen -- but I can come off of the edge. I think that the Nebraska defense is a great fit for me."
