There isn’t a lot of time left for Aaron Williams. The 5-foot-11 and 181-pound defensive back from Atlanta (Ga.) Carver is still committed to Nebraska and was set to enroll early in Lincoln. That was until Bo Pelini was fired then things were all put on hold. Williams still hasn’t spoken with Nebraska.
”I haven’t talked to anyone since Coach Bo was fired,” Williams said. “I know that Coach Charlton Warren was supposed to come on Monday to see me, but he didn’t. That was set up before Bo was fired though. I am sure he’s seeing about his situation.”
Williams just found out about Nebraska hiring Mike Riley from Oregon State. The three-star recruit didn’t really know who Riley was, wasn’t recruited by Riley and said that he didn’t think Oregon State recruited Georgia very much. “I don’t know who he is at all,” Williams said.
Williams’ situation is tough. He has been committed to Nebraska now since May. He signed the non-binding financial paperwork and is all set to enroll in Lincoln for the spring semester so he can participate in spring ball. Now, all of that might need to be scrapped.
”I am still committed to Nebraska, but I am looking at other options now. I am looking at Mississippi State, Indiana and Notre Dame. They have all still been recruiting me and my recruiting just picked up. I plan on taking official visits to other schools.”
Williams is also close with Nebraska commitment NeKyle Lundie from Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson. He didn’t want to say a lot for Lundie, but offered up some comments. “He told me he was still committed, but he was going to look at other options,” Williams said. “I know that he’s been looking at Auburn and Missouri.”
