Reuben Jones is one of a few Nebraska commitment to open back up and consider other schools following Bo Pelini being fired. The 6-foot-3 and 223-pound Jones from Lakeland (Flor.) Lake Gibson offered up his reaction to Mike Riley becoming the next head coach at Nebraska.
"I wasn't recruited by Oregon State before," Jones said. "I am going to wait and see for a few days to see if the new coach or someone on his staff contacts me."
The wait and see approach is a safe bet. Jones is still very much open to the idea of coming to Nebraska. He has to consider being a Husker now under a new head coach and that is definitely on his mind.
"I don't know if I will want to go there (Nebraska) as much since it's the head coach from Oregon State that is being hired. I will still wait and see what he has to say."
Jones said that he hadn't recently spoken with any of the other Nebraska recruits. He did reach out to Nebraska assistant coach Rick Kaczenski though and shared his thoughts about that conversation.
"I spoke with Coach Kaz a few days ago," Jones said. "He didn't know what was going on at all. I don't want to ruin anything with Nebraska so I was staying in contact and keeping my options open."
Jones included that he is considering official visits to other schools, but hasn't set any visits up yet. Jones did take an official visit to Michigan State only a month ago before deciding to commit to Nebraska.
