Antoine Albert setting up visit to Nebraska

Nebraska could start bringing in the first weekend of official visitors this weekend under the new head coach. This junior college defensive back says that he will be setting up the visit soon.

Things are moving quick with the new coach(es) at Nebraska and Pleasant Hill (Calif.) Diablo Valley defensive back Antoine Albert. The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound junior college All-American got the offer from Nebraska after being recruited by Mike Riley at Oregon State.

"Nebraska actually offered me yesterday," Albert said. "I had an offer and was already being recruited by Oregon State."

The staff has picked up a commitment and has sent one new offer. It seems that they will start having official visitors this coming weekend as well.

"Yes sir I am going to officially visit Nebraska. The coaches are supposed to call me tomorrow and get it set up."

Albert has some nice offers to go along with the new one from Nebraska. Some of them include Cal, Arizona, Iowa State, Washington State, Oregon State and others. This new offer from Nebraska puts them right into the mix.

"I would have to say that Nebraska is in my top 5. I have a special bond with Coach and I would like to play for him."

Coach Mike Riley sees Albert as a cornerback, but based on his size and hips could play either cornerback or safety. Albert has a preference and says that he will have a red shirt year once he signs in February.

"They see me as a cornerback," Albert said. "I would prefer to play there. I will be able to graduate in May and I have three years to play two."
