Lawton (Okla.) offensive lineman Jalin Barnett took an official visit to Nebraska this past weekend. The four-star, 6-foot-4 and 290-pound Barnett, could not be reached by phone but the Lawton staff had spoken with Barnett throughout the weekend.
"Jalin went to Nebraska with his grandma and a family friend," Lawton Head Coach Randy Breeze said. "My son coaches with me and he talks with Jalin quite a bit and I got a lot about this weekend through my son.
"Jalin had a real nice trip to Nebraska. Nebraska is really in the mix for Jalin now. He is close to committing. I think that he just needs to come home and think about things."
Coach Breeze was able to paint quite a picture how Barnett's top schools. Barnett holds offers from both in-state schools, visited a top SEC program and is now coming back from a trip to Nebraska.
Coach Breeze is fairly certain that those four schools are Barnett's top schools. He also thinks that Barnett is close to having his recruiting wrapped up partly based on which teams he's told no.
"I think that is his top four and you really can't go wrong with any of those four teams. Jalin has told some big programs no already. He told Stanford and Alabama no. I think that he has his four. He's close to committing."
