Nebraska vs Iowa primer

If the Huskers want to make back-to-back NCAA tournaments, they will need to turn things around quickly.

Above .500 and only 13 games into the season, it’s hard to say any Big Ten basketball team is out of the hunt for a NCAA tournament bid. But, Nebraska (8-5, 0-1) will have to go on a run at some point to make up lost ground from the non-conference portion of the schedule.

The Huskers travel to Iowa City tonight for a battle with Iowa (10-4, 1-0). Nebraska is coming off a 70-65 home loss to Indiana on New Year’s Eve, while the Hawkeyes have won two straight – including a road upset over No. 20 Ohio State.

“Last couple of practices, we’ve been going after it pretty hard,” NU point guard Benny Parker told reporters on Sunday, including the LJS. “We’re trying to go to Iowa with a tough mindset.

“It’s another road test for us,” Parker said. “We’ve got to go in and play hard and not worry about everything else and just focus on what we know how to do and finish the game.”
