Days after committing to Nebraska, 2015 running back Devine Ozigbo joined Mike’l Severe on “The Bottom Line,” to discuss his commitment to the Huskers in more details.
“When Nebraska comes, you got to look. You have to see what’s going on,” Ozigbo told the local talk show. “I did my research and after a while I started to contemplate. ‘If I get this offer, what happens?’ I then started doing my research even harder. Digging into things. Nebraska just fit. I talked to my brother and dad – we talked about it a lot. Once I got it, we sort of had an idea what we were going to do.”
Severe asked Ozigbo how much he knew about Nebraska before the interest?
“As a state, I think my mom knew more. She brought up Warren Buffet a lot,” said Ozigbo. “I’m a big college football fan. I knew my fair share about Nebraska (the football program). Living in this area of Texas, Plano is right down the street. Rex Burkhead went to Plano senior. I didn’t know him personally, but it was pretty cool to know that I could have played a guy that went to Nebraska. I kept up with him and watched a lot of his games.”
Ozigbo says he looks to improve on all aspects of his game before hitting Lincoln, but points to conditioning as one of the biggest priorities.
