Jake Heinrich still interested in Nebraska

2016 recruits have been seeing the Nebraska staff at their high schools and some new offers have been going out. A junior offensive lineman that they have their eyes on has been in tough with the offensive line assistant coach already at Nebraska.

Jake Heinrich from Urbandale (Iowa) stood out last summer at Nebraska for their summer camp. The Top 300 2016 player didn't pick up an offer, but was definitely on their radar.

That staff that evaluated Heinrich is gone now and there is a new head coach in Lincoln. While they might not have seen Heinrich in person yet the word that they are dedicated to recruiting the radius of Lincoln means that they soon will. But, they won't be meeting him this weekend.

"No, I won't be in Lincoln this weekend," Heinrich said. "Is it their junior day or just an official visit weekend? I know that I will be in Lincoln for their junior day later on."

Heinrich had developed a relationship with John Garrison under Bo Pelini. Now he is developing a relationship with Mike Cavanaugh under Mike Riley.

"I have spoken with Coach Mike Cavanaugh and he seems like a good guy. I think that he is very interested in me. I've told him about all of my academics and other sports.

"He told me that he watched my highlight film and said that he liked what he saw. He said that he was going to watch a full game for our team some time soon."

Heinrich said that he was making every effort to get back to Lincoln for their upcoming junior day as well as the spring game.
