Nebraska (13-10, 5-6 Big Ten) basketball coach Tim Miles got a haircut on Monday. He said he was noticing a few extra gray hairs these days. This after his offense, which has struggled all season, managed to score just 43 points on Saturday against Penn State. It was the third time in four games the Huskers only scored 44 points or less.
“Simplifying it to the word problem is the problem, it goes well beyond that,” said Miles when asked about his team’s offensive struggles on the Big Ten teleconference Monday morning. “It started off I thought us missing shots. Now we aren’t executing either. We aren’t running our stuff and getting to our spots and making hard cuts. Now when you have lost that, you have lost the chance to be a good offensive team.”
Miles and Nebraska will welcome Wisconsin into Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. The Badgers (21-2, 9-1 Big Ten) are the nation’s No. 5 team overall. Last season, the Huskers knocked off then No. 9 Wisconsin in early March to make the NCAA tournament.
