Donte Coleman wants to visit Nebraska

Nebraska will likely take multiple tight ends in the class of 2016 which explains one commitment at the spot already and the new offers. One of the latest offers went to this north Texas end.

Donte Coleman from Mesquite (Texas) West is really a name that is on the rise. The 6-foot-4 and 220-pound tight end picked up three new offers this week bringing his offer total to double-digits.

"I am up to 11 offers," Coleman said. "The last few that I picked up were from Kansas, TCU and Nebraska. I got all of those this week."

Coleman spoke to the tight ends coach at Nebraska. The Huskers like how Coleman plays the game and fits in the offense that they plan to run under Mike Riley.

"Nebraska likes that I can play everywhere on the field. They like that I am physical. They said that they think that I can split out wide and also play next to the tackle."

Playing tight end requires a little attitude at least to play the true Y. Lining up next to the tackle and being that guy that can set the edge as a blocker requires a mindset. Coleman says he loves to block.

"I love to blocking. I like to get the ball; I mean I am a receiver. I love the crossing patterns or going deep on a post route."

There are some visits coming up for Coleman including one this weekend to Austin possibly. He says that there is another that he's planned to another Big XII team and after that there is just a plan to take more trips.

"I am going to TCU for their spring game. Texas invited me to their junior day this weekend. I want to make some other visits this summer as well."

Coleman says that he doesn't have any favorites and that he thinks a lot about the Nebraska offer. One of the teams that could potentially host Coleman this summer might be Nebraska.

"I don't have a list of top schools," Coleman said. "The offer from Nebraska is a big one. I like what they do with the tight end in their offense. I spoke with Coach Tavita Thompson about it.

"It was a good talk with coach. They said that they really liked my film. They like what I can do on the field and how I can fit into their offense. I would like to visit Nebraska."
