Reggie Davis getting to know his RBs

After three spring practices, new Nebraska running back coach Reggie Davis is getting to know his players.

LINCOLN, Neb. - After three spring practices, Nebraska running backs coach Reggie Davis feels the Huskers have a good mix of guys at the position, but they are still working out the puzzle pieces.

With four players who look like they warrant carries at the Big Ten level, Davis doesn't care if it's a running back by committee or a single-guy in the fall that carries the load.

"When we had Quiz (Jacquizz Rodgers) at Oregon State, he pretty much did it all," said Davis. "When I was in San Francisco, Frank (Gore) was the inside guy and Kendall Hunter was getting all the outside stuff. We won 13 games with that too. So it's really whatever wins. You always want good players. You find a way to get them the ball and work them into the system."

Davis was also asked about former four-star back Adam Taylor, who's coming off a missed 2014 season with a leg injury.

“I think he’s feeling pretty good if you ask him,” said Davis. The running back coach was asked how he would describe Taylor’s running style. “The jury is still out on that to be honest. I would like to see a little bit more so I could give a good answer.”
