After sitting out in 2014, a year where he was projected to do big things, defensive back LeRoy Alexander is trying to prove himself to a new Nebraska staff.

LINCOLN, Neb. - After sitting out the 2014 season for an undisclosed reason, Nebraska junior safety LeRoy Alexander is happy to be getting reps for something other than the scout team.

With no game reps on the 2014 film for the staff to evaluate, the 15 Husker spring practices are crucial for the former honorable-mention All-Big Ten freshman.

“Right now I’m looking to help the team with anything I can do,” said Alexander.

While not getting into the reasons for sitting out, Alexander said it was a learning experience.

“I learned to make good choices,” said Alexander. “To ask for help when I need it and don’t do anything out of my own will.”
