Mike Edwards to visit Nebraska

There is one opening for Nebraska in the class of 2015 and their attention has turned to this talented forward. The Huskers will have a chance to host him starting Thursday and in just a few short weeks following this visit he will make his decision.

Nebraska is still working to close out their 2015 class and they are making a big push for Mike Edwards. Edwards, a 6-foot-10 and 217-pound center/forward from Westland (Mich.) John Glenn will take his second official visit this week when he heads to see Nebraska.

“I am traveling to Nebraska on Thursday,” Edwards said. “I am really looking forward to talking to the players to see if I fit in. I want to get a sense of the environment there as well.”

The Huskers are in need of size. They need finishers around the basket. That’s exactly where a player like Edwards could fit in. The added benefit is the ability to penetrate of step out and take the jumper as Edwards says that he can.

“Nebraska likes me as a power forward,” Edwards said. “I think that my strengths are finishing around the hoop, my ability to play around the perimeter, I can penetrate or step out and shoot it.”

The official visit to Nebraska this weekend will be Edwards second official visit. He took his first trip to Georgia just a couple of weeks ago. Edwards says that he doesn’t have any other plans for additional visits and would like to decide by May.

“I have taken one official visit to Georgia and then this trip to Nebraska,” Edwards said. “I don’t have any other visits planned. I would like to make a decision in the next three to four weeks.”
