Miami (Okla.) NE Oklahoma A&M linebacker Chris Baccus has really seen his stock soar lately. The 6-foot-3 and 225-pound Baccus has great size and athleticism for an inside linebacker. Baccus and teammate Maurice Chandler will visit Nebraska this weekend.
"I went to Oklahoma last weekend and I go to Nebraska this weekend," Baccus said. "I also go to Arkansas next weekend. This will be my first D-1 spring game. I want to see the crowd at Nebraska, feel the atmosphere and see how they run things. I just want to sit back and observe everything this weekend."
Baccus will play mainly inside for NE Oklahoma A&M this fall, but in some situations will actually move outside. Baccus says that he's capable to play outside because of his speed.
"I will be playing mostly inside, but there are some times where I will technically be outside. I am big and fast. I think that I would like to try and play outside linebacker at the next level. I really like to hit. I can also play in space."
Baccus and his teammates have been practicing this spring for about three weeks and are getting close to wrapping things up. Baccus acknowledges that there have been some rough times this spring. But, they have gotten better.
"We have had some tough practices," Baccus said. "We have been sharpening up every day though and have kept working. Our defense is looking pretty solid right now."
