Nebraska stops by to see Xavier Kelly

The Huskers were "painting the nation red" today with coaches all over during the evaluation period. The defensive coordinator stopped by to see this heralded defensive end who was having a big day already.

Xavier Kelly from Wichita (Kans.) East was in Lincoln this past weekend for the Nebraska spring game. The Nebraska coaching staff wasted no time getting back out to see one of their top defensive end prospects today.

"Coach Mark Banker was here from Nebraska," Kelly said. "I spoke to Coach Banker a lot this past weekend. He seems like a really cool guy. He had a lot to tell me about how they do things on the field and academically at Nebraska."

While it was a big day to get the visit from the Nebraska staff that was only part of it. There were two new offers for Kelly which put him at a significant offer total.

"I got to 20 offers," Kelly said. "I picked up offers from Baylor and from Arizona State. Those two make 20 offers for me."

Kelly plans to announce his college decision at the U.S. Army All-American Game in January.
