It seemed like just a matter of time before Patrick O'Brien received his first offer. Nebraska stopped by to see the San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) San Juan Hills quarterback and just a few days later the 6-foot-4 and 218-pound O'Brien got an offer from the Huskers.
"I am visiting Nebraska on May 10th," O'Brien said. "I am looking forward to seeing everything that Nebraska has to offer, just the town, meet the coaches and see their facilities."
While O'Brien has the very important first offer there is a very good chance that more will follow. O'Brien isn't sure who might be the best, but he says that he's not necessarily hoping for one school to offer out of the group.
"I am talking to quite a few schools and maybe some of them might offer. I am not really really favoring any school or hoping that they will offer. I am just taking my time."
There is a timeline for O'Brien that he would like to stick to. He says that there is a desire to get his decision out of the way early into the summer and take just one official visit this fall.
"I want to commit in early summer," O'Brien said. "I would just take one official visit this fall to the school I am committed to."
O'Brien will be headed to Lincoln in a couple of weeks with a family member. Some were thinking a friend of O'Brien who is also close to making a decision and has the Huskers in his final list might also come along.
"My dad is going with me on the trip to Nebraska. D.J. Morgan isn't coming with me to Nebraska. I could ask him to come with me though."
