Nebraska prep Noah Fant looking at three

Nebraska prep Noah Fant is heavily looking at three schools and a decision could be coming soon.

After a recent trip to Vanderbilt, Omaha South defensive end/tight end Noah Fant admits three schools are standing out: Iowa, Nebraska, and the Commodores.

“Those are the three schools I’m heavily considering,” said Fant. “I would say those are my top three.”

Fant was asked to talk briefly about each school and what at the moment stands out.

Vanderbilt - “They are really known for their academics and are a good football school. A big part of their appeal is they are in the SEC. It’s one of the best conferences.”

Iowa - “I would say their academics as far as their medical program is very good. Their facilities are really nice and the coaching staff took a heavy interest in me, which stood out.”

Nebraska - “Their facilities are also really nice and it’s close to home. I’m from Nebraska, so that would be a great place to go.”

Fant says he plans to go to Iowa and visits to Oregon/Iowa State could happen before a decision is made – likely in June.

Fant was offered by the Nebraska coaching staff in early March and attended the spring game in April. Last year he was a frequent visitor on the Huskers’ sidelines during games.

“I would say Coach Riley and I talk on a weekly basis, so they are still recruiting me pretty hard,” said Fant. “They want me to commit, but I’m not sure yet. They said they only have a certain number of spots that they can bring in. I just know that I need to find the best school that fits for me.”

The 6-foot-4, 210-prospect is currently a three-star recruit on Scout.com and the nation’s No. 66 defensive end. Besides his top three, he also has offers from Iowa State, Liberty, Wyoming, South Dakota State and Buffalo.
