Colorado prep Jon Van Diest camps at Nebraska

Colorado 2017 standout Jon Van Diest camped at Nebraska this past weekend, part of a multi-camp tour for the power-five offered prep.

Cherry Creek high school (CO) 2017 defensive end prospect Jon Van Diest is currently on a camp tour, that included Nebraska this past week at the Huskers' Friday Night Lights camp.

"I really enjoyed the Nebraska camp, the drills, all that stuff. When it came to the defensive end drills, my technique was really good. I performed pretty well," said Van Diest. After the camp I talked with the defensive coordinator (Mark Banker). He said that I had good technique and wanted to know what school that I was from. We then talked about how he was impressed with my play during the drills."

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound soon to be junior is actually rated as an outside linebacker on Currently Van Diest has offers from Colorado State and Colorado.

"It was my first trip to Nebraska," said Van Diest, who received a tour on the academic side of things from Professor Samuel Nelson in the business department. "We saw the academic buildings, the Haymarket, everything really but the football facilities."

Van Diest camped at Missouri over the weekend and will hit camps at TCU, Stanford and UCLA in the coming weeks.

"I hav been talking with Duke recently," said Van Diest, when asked if he thought more offers could be on the horizon. "Their defensive line coach has really wanted me to get out there camps. I just can’t make it finally happen, but in time they will offer."
