Jake Cerny stops at Nebraska for camp

Nebraska hosted three-star prospect Jake Cerny out of Michigan during their Friday Night Lights camp last week.

Despite not having an offer from Nebraska, one of the higher-profile players at the Huskers first Friday Night Lights camp on Friday was Traverse City West high school (MI) offensive tackle Jake Cerny. The Michigan native was recently a Nike Opening Regional MVP.

“I would say it was a solid 9. I had no idea what to expect going into the visit but, I was blown away by the town and the facilities,” said Cerny. “The highlight was defiantly the weight room.”

The 6-foot-5, 288-pound prospect currently has offers from Buffalo, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Cornell, Illinois, Toledo and more.

“I'm going to a multitude of camps over the course of the summer. And as of right now I haven't decided where I'm going to take my officials,” said Cerny, who said Nebraska didn’t really have a conversation with him regarding how he might fit into the class. “I thought I did pretty well during the camp.”

Cerny talked about new Nebraska head coach Mike Riley.

“I really like him. He's very calm and smart. Really knows his football. I do think he will be successful,” said Cerny.
