Huskers OC Danny Langsdorf on Nebraska quarterback

Nebraska junior Tommy Armstrong and his 21 starts is the guy this fall, right? Nebraska offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf talked about the topic on Wednesday.

Does Lincoln need to get ready for a quarterback battle this fall?

Probably not, but appearing on AM 590 ESPN radio in Omaha on Wednesday, Nebraska offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf didn’t by any means name Armstrong the starter heading into fall.

“Well there is definitely going to be a battle,” said Langsdorf on AM 590. “We felt going into the spring with the amount of experience Tommy’s had, he definitely had a leg up on the competition. He’s played in a lot of games. That’s stuff that is hard to simulate in practice. Live reps. He definitely has an advantage that way. We are trying to make sure we are playing the right guy for our system. Someone who completes balls and takes care of it. That’s the type of guy we want to play.”

Langsdorf said Armstrong picked up Nebraska’s new system quite well, but pointed to guys like A.J. Bush and Zack Darlington who had nice spring camps.
