Bootle makes No. 13 for the Huskers

According to Scout.com's Corey Bender, Miami Southridge high school defensive back DiCaprio Bootle has committed to Nebraska.

"It's beautiful, loved the facilities, I really like what they have going on as a team for the future," said Bootle in a conversation with Bender. "I think I will fit in well. A lockdown defensive back with speed and a great tackler with the ability to shut down a whole side of the field

"I have really built a strong relationship with defensive backs coach Brian Stewart. It's been great."

The soon to be senior received an offer from the Huskers during the Nebraska's sattelite camp stop in Florida last month.

“I ran a 4.34,” said Bootle at the time. “I have bee hitting 4.4 consistently. The last five camps I have been around 4.4. I don’t know what it was. I guess it was because Nebraska was there.

“I felt that I performed well at the camp. I had a chance to showcase my speed, my ability to get in and out of breaks, my ability to attack the ball."

Bootle is the 13th known Nebraska commitment in the 2016 class. He is currently 5-foot-11, 175-pounds.

The Florida prep will take an official visit with the Huskers this fall, but hasn't established a weekend yet.
