Scout Breakdown: Nebraska in the Midwest

Nebraska head coach Mike Riley and crew have been on the job nearly eight months now. A look at how they are recruiting the Midwest.

New Nebraska head coach Mike Riley and staff have only been on the job eight months, but look like they have a plan put in place to make recruiting a priority year round.

Currently the Huskers have 14 commitments going into the month of August, the most in the Big Ten era

A program that recruits nationally, when looking at the Huskers commitment list, Nebraska only has two players (both were committed before Riley took over) currently from the Midwest region - an area where Bo Pelini and the previous coaching staff spent much of the time.

Big Red Report's Josh Harvey sat down with Scout.com national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu, who covers the Midwest, to see if he thinks the Huskers will be players going forward in the region.
