Wisconsin B1G West favorites again

Wisconsin is picked to win the Big Ten West again in 2015 and also check in at No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll.

Wisconsin lost former head coach Gary Anderson very surprisingly this past offseason to Oregon State.

They lost running back Melvin Gordon to the NFL Draft.

A few key offensive linemen are gone.

If there was ever a year for the Badgers to not be favorites in the Big Ten West or to be outside the USA Today Coaches Top 25, it would be this fall.

It’s not the case.

Wisconsin debuted at No. 18 in the preseason coaches poll on Thursday.

“Our team right now, I think, knows what it needs to do to be their be” said new head coach Paul Chryst. “And this summer, I liked watching them. I liked getting to know them and continuing to get to know our players and what they're doing and how they've gone about their business. And couldn't be more excited to go to camp and to start this journey that is the 2015 season together.”

Wisconsin safety Mike Caputo along with running back Corey Clement talked about being favorites in the Big Ten West and national perception of the Badgers' program.
