Omaha (Neb.) South jumbo athlete Noah Fant, a three-star prospect on Scout.com, will announce his college decision on Friday Aug. 28. The 2016 prospect has chosen Omaha AM radio station 1620 The Zone as his outlet for the decision.
Fant has visited Nebraska, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Cal and UCLA, all of which he currently holds offers from. Fant is the nation's No. 71 player at his projected position of defensive end, which will likely change to ATHLETE in the coming weeks.
If Fant were to pick a school other than Nebraska, he would be the second prospect in the 2016 class to leave the state after holding an offer from the Huskers.
The biggest debate has been where Fant will play at the next level. He recently told RecruitingNewsGuru.com it sounds like schools will try to figure it out as they go.
“Pretty much all of them are recruiting me as an athlete," said Fant. "When they look at my film, one defensive coach said “man we want this kid on defense” and the offensive coach gets it and he’s like “well we need me on offense.” They’re letting me know it’s up to me on which side of the ball I want to play and they are recruiting me as an athlete. They’ve let me know I can play on either side of the ball in Division-I football. They let me know both sides want me and I can choose which side of the ball I want to play.”
Out of all the schools listed, Nebraska is one Fant has seen in person the most.
