Video: Mike Riley post practice (8-25-15)

Nebraska head coach Mike Riley talked to the media on Tuesday after the Huskers' practice.

New Nebraska Injuries: OT.) Alex Lewis (knee contusion), MLB.) Josh Banderas (pulled muscle), TE.) Trey Foster (ankle).


Nebraska head coach Mike Riley said Nebraska could potentially be using the fullback more with tight end depth being where it’s at, especially with Foster’s injury.                                                                            

Riley said today true freshman that would play for sure: Dedrick Young, Devine Ozigbo, Aaron Williams, Stanley Morgan, andTyrin Ferguson. In addition long snapper Jordan Ober is a Nebraska starter on special teams. Earlier in this week, Big Red Report projected the following names and Antonio Reed as non-redshirt guys.

Riley said wide receiver coach Keith Williams is very demanding, but done a tremendous job with the position considering the rash of injuries. “It’s a mess,” said Riley.

Working behind Lewis is David Knevel, who is currently getting first-team reps with the senior sidelined.

The head coach called BYU’s defense is very diverse. “I think they blitz from the bleachers.” Riley said you have to be sound when blocking them.

Riley said when going back to the tape, Armstrong made some tremendous throws in the scrimmage. “After looking at it, I was very impressed with the way he threw it,” said Riley.
