On the first day college coaches can contact class of 2017 prospects, Wilmington (Del.) Concord linebacker Avery Roberts was hit hard.
By 9 a.m., Roberts told Scout 24 schools reached out. In the next few minutes, Notre Dame, Florida and USC also checked in with him.
"It's humbling and a huge blessing," he said. "I know many people would love to be in this situation, but it also makes it more confusing. I want to be somewhere that I am looked at as a priority and they are all showing me that they see me as that. My coach just said I have to call Ohio State again today. I think they are going to offer."
As for the schools to contact Roberts, in addition to the aforementioned ones, he said Washington, Stanford, Penn State, Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Michigan State, Syracuse, Maryland, Indiana, Wisconsin, Rutgers, North Carolina, Baylor, LSU, Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh and Boston College each made contact.
