Nebraska QB Patrick O'Brien has the attention of Scout.com

Nebraska quarterback commit Patrick O'Brien has grabbed the attention of Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins.

Nebraska quarterback commit Patrick O’Brien is making huge noise out west and has grabbed the attention of Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins.

“He’s in better shape. He’s throwing the ball so well. Tight spin every time. He’s got more poise in the pocket – more pocket presence – calm under pressure all the time. He’s not making bad decisions,” said Biggins. “He can escape the pressure, with his eyes down the field and make the throw.

“The biggest thing is you look like you are watching a college quarterback right now.” - Greg Biggins

When O’Brien initially committed to Nebraska in May, his offer list was pretty new and he hadn’t made the Elite 11 Finals yet. Biggins liked the commitment at the time, but likes even more now for the rising senior.

“Huge commitment,” said Biggins. “I have said it before. This guy is the guy who I think both UCLA and USC might look back and regret, ‘how did we let this guy out of our backyard.’”

O’Brien is currently a three-star prospect on Scout.com. The network has not adjusted the rankings since prior to the season. The quarterback has a strong chance of moving up the list at his position.

“For me, I know the thousands and thousands of Husker fans are going to be happy about this. He looks like a four-star quarterback to me – easily,” said Biggins. “I’m a big pads guy. He had a good year as a junior, but he’s had a great senior year with the pads on. He’s answered any questions.

“I will say that I’m definitely going to make that recommendation and I think there is a good chance of that happening.”
