LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska head basketball coach Tim Miles and crew kicked off practices on Monday, starting the 2015-16 season.
Miles enters his four season at Nebraska with a 47-49 record. Nebraska is coming off a 13-18 season and will have many new faces. Star guard Terran Petteway left Nebraska early and signed a rookie free agent with the Atlanta Hawks. In addition, forward Walter Pitchford decided to skip his senior season to pursue a professional career.
"As I look at our team and review last year, we were so dependent on him, it might be a better thing for us," said Miles regarding Petteway, who averaged 18.2 points per game last season. "We are not so predictable. I think we need to go back to our ball movement, motion type, where that predictability is a little harder to scout."
Nebraska's roster features at least six new players that will be in the Huskers' rotation this season.
