LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska's injury list was a long one heading into Illinois last week and won't get much relief heading into Wisconsin week.
Nebraska defensive tackle Kevin Maurice, who played the game of his career against Illinois on Saturday, will be out at least four weeks with a stress fracture in his foot. Nebraska's defensive tackle position now gets interesting, with injuries to senior Kevin Williams (thumb) and Vincent Valentine (high-ankle sprain) as well. The staff is optimistic about Valentine, but the junior hasn't done much with his high ankle sprain the last few weeks and could be limited. Williams is out for sure with a thumb injury.
Nebraska defensive end Greg McMullen could see some playing time at defensive tackle, with the return of senior defensive end Jack Gangwish.
At linebacker, head coach Mike Riley gave no update on junior Josh Banderas (groin), who was questionable last week for Illinois, but did not end playing. His replacement, Chris Weber, registered 17 tackles against the Illini. Fellow linebacker Michael Rose is expected to still be out this week with a groin injury.
