After picking up a Nebraska offer over the weekend, Christian Brothers College high school running back Tre Bryant, a Kansas State commit, will visit the Huskers down the road.
“I don’t have an offer yet, but I’m definitely going to take one,” said Bryant. “I’m really interested in them.”
The 5-foot-9, 195-pound prospect is scheduled to visit Minnesota this weekend and also has offers from schools like Missouri, Indiana, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Syracuse.
“I’m really happy about the offer,” said Bryant. “It is really interesting to me. I have to do some more research on Nebraska. I want to make to get up there to make sure I’m making the right decision.
“The thing I know most about Nebraska is the historic part of it, they are a really historic program. I think they have five national championships, so they know how to win. I really like the coaching staff at this point.”
Bryant’s strong mid-season highlight film will likely cause other teams to take another look at the Missouri prep. Currently he is a three-star prospect on Scout.com.
“The small details we were what I worked on,” said Bryant when asked about his offseason goals. “Stuff like pass pro and pre-snap reads. All backs at the college level know how to run the ball, so it’s been about the little things to get better and get on the field.
“I would say that I’m an all purpose guy who can also catch the ball out of the backfield. I like to be fast and physical, but I do have a little fineness to my game.”
Bryant is being recruited by Nebraska running back coach Reggie Davis.
