Trent Bray would like to use Josh Banderas and Chris Weber at MLB

Nebraska linebacker coach Trent Bray said he would like to use both Josh Banderas and Chris Weber at the MIKE spot.

LINCOLN, Neb. - After missing four games, Nebraska linebacker Josh Banderas returned to the field during Minnesota week and the last two Husker contests has led the squad in tackles.

His replacement for those games out was Chris Weber, who actually has missed the last two games with a neck stinger.

Weber is expected back this week and the topic of how the reps might be divvied up between the two was asked on Tuesday.

"It would be good to be able to roll those guys and if we are playing a lot of plays in the 70s and 80s, like most spread teams do, it would be good to keep those guys fresh," said Bray.

Bray said both linebackers do a great job commanding the defense and are smart players.

Defensive coordinator Mark Banker said Josh Banderas is the starter right now.
