LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska head coach Mike Riley announced De'Mornay Pierson-El is out for the year with a knee injury. The sophomore, who already missed the Huskers first four games of the season with a broken foot, tore his knee on on Saturday against Purdue. In addition, he also suffered a fractured leg.
"That's a sad deal," Riley said.
In five games this season, Pierson-El only had 12 catches for 111 yards with a touchdown, but was starting to round into shape after a slow start.
Pierson-El is scheduled for surgery this week.
