Running Back Tre Bryant Commits to Nebraska

Husker running back target Tre Bryant was in town for the Huskers' big win over Michigan State. On Sunday night, he committed to the University of Nebraska.

After decommitting from Kansas State earlier in the week, Christian Brothers College (Missouri) 2016 running back Tre Bryant visited Nebraska on an official visit this weekend. Apparently, the senior saw everything he thought he would. It's the reason why he committed to Nebraska earlier in the week, choosing to wait on the announcement until Sunday night when he was back home.

"Talking with the coaches, I really feel that I fit in well with their offensive system," said Bryant. "The environment around the program is great. I got to interact with some of the players as well and they were really cool."

Bryant became even a bigger target the last few weeks for the Huskers with the Jordan Stevenson situation turning south.

"Imani Cross definitely got it going last night," said Bryant. "I just imagined myself back there as well, making plays for the team." national recruiting analyst Greg Powers shared his thoughts on the senior running back.

"Tre Bryant is one of the elite share of athletes invited to Nike's The Opening Finals in Oregon during July," said Powers. "He's a tremendous tester, posting one of the top SPARQ scores in the nation. He has the size, strength, power, explosion, and speed. A lot of that should carry over to the running back position, but he needs to develop a bit more patience and vision."

Bryant talked about the experience of telling Nebraska head coach Mike Riley and running back coach Reggie Davis his decision to commit.

"They were just thanking me and I was thanking them as well, for giving me the opportunity to come to their program," said Bryant, who will likely start to become a recruiter himself for Nebraska. "I think that I'm pretty laid back about recruiting. I have a few guys in my mind right now to tell why I became a Cornhusker."

Nebraska Director of Director of Player Personnel Ryan Gunderson went to Twitter to welcome the running back on Sunday night.

Before the game, Bryant was able to meet face-to-face with Riley. The video can be seen below.

We will catch up with Bryant again in the coming weeks.
