Former Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah isn't probably having the season he envisioned in Detroit's backfield when the Lions took him in the second round in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Through nine games, Abdullah has only registered 68 carries, rushing for 240 yards and a touchdown. He's averaging only 3.5 yards per carry.
His work as a kick returner is a different story.
Abdullah currently has 670 returning yards, good for No. 1 in the NFL. His 31.9 yards per return is also good for No. 1.
On Sunday, facing the Green Bay Packers, Abdullah tied the longest NFL return without scoring a touchdown. The rookie took it 104-yards, getting tackled at the Packers' 1-yard line. The return can be seen above.
