Hard-hitting linebacker David Reese took the second official visit of his recruiting process when he went down to Gainesville this weekend.
According to his father, the Gators "rolled out the red carpet," and son agreed that the Gators showed them what they needed to see.
"I had a great visit," he said. "I enjoyed talking to the staff and besides the outcome, the game was great. The defense played lights out and even put points on the board. There are a lot of positive things going on and I'm truly blessed to be able to be a part of them."
Reese remains committed to Michigan, but the Wolverines have not offered him an early enrollment possibility, while Texas, Florida and Nebraska, the three schools he is officially visiting, have.
Academics and playing time are two factors which could swing the pendulum towards one school.
The depth chart at Florida is definitely something intriguing him about the Gators.
"The thing that really stood out to me was the depth chart and the relationship between coach Shannon and his linebackers. During our conversation regarding depth there, I learned that they're thin at linebacker and it's a great opportunity to come in and play."
Reese has already taken his Nebraska official and will head to Texas next with Texas Christian still a possibility as well. So how did the Gators measure up with the Cornhuskers and other recruiting visits he's been on?
"I haven't really got the chance to sit down and compare yet," he said.
Reese finished his senior season with 148 tackles.
