On more than one occasion Nebraska head coach Mike Riley indicated his 2015 roster was missing a couple pass rushers. On Tuesday afternoon, a member of the Husker coaching staff visited a pretty good one.
Arizona Western Jonathan Kongbo, a four-star Tennessee commitment, hosted Nebraska defensive line coach Hank Hughes.
While Kongbo’s commitment to the Vols is still pretty new, the junior college product has indicated he still wants to visit more schools before National Signing Day.
“Coach Hughes came by my school and talked about the things that Nebraska can offer,” said Kongbo. “I’m most likely going to visit. Either in a week or in January.”
In 2015, Kongbo had 49 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, and recovered a fumble to earn First Team All-Conference honors.
A transfer from Wyoming, Kongbo is listed as a red-shirt freshman at Arizona Western with three years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
Former Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory, who is now playing for the Dallas Cowboys, played at Arizona Western.
