Nebraska in Final 2 for Three-Star DB Tony Butler

The recruitment of three-star defensive back Tony Butler is coming to a close, and the Lakewood (OH) St. Edward product will make his choice next Wednesday. Is Nebraska the clear leader for Butler?

Tony Butler is a three-star recruit from Lakewood St. Edward, one of the top programs in the state of Ohio. Butler was a key piece to St. Edward winning back to back state championships, and is a very talented defensive back.

His recruitment will come to a close next Wednesday, when Butler will announce his college choice at St. Edward High School.

Butler was scheduled to visit Arizona State this weekend and the Sun Devils were high on his list, but that visit has been canceled.

He will now decide betweem Nebraska and West Virginia, and the Cornhuskers might have sealed the deal Thursday evening.

Butler has grown quite close to Nebraska assistant coach Brian Stewart, who was in the home Thursday night to meet with the player and his family.

"I'm going to decide next week between West Virginia and Nebraska," Butler stated Friday morning. "I had Coach Stewart at my home last night, and things went well. It was a good visit for me and my family."

Scout will be on hand next Wednesday for Butler's announcement, and will be reporting live from St. Edward High School.
