The third time is a charm.
After a trip never materialized this past summer and then failed to happen again before winter break, Merced junior college defensive back Devron Davis appears locked in to an official visit on Jan 29th.
“They have to get all my transcripts together. I would have scheduled it or the 22nd, but they have to get my transcripts together. So I’m going to Illinois on the 22nd,” said Davis. “I’m really psyched to see Nebraska. I can’t wait. Honestly, I want to see it for myself. I have a friend in Derrion Grim who is now there. He has said a lot of good things. I want to see it myself.
“I definitely think they are the leader right now. My cousin Steven played for coach (Mark) Banker. They were familiar with each other. I talked with Steve and he loves Coach B. Coach Banker says he sees a lot of the same in me. It’s a combination of everything. Keith Williams is a Stockton guy, I live in Stockton. There are a lot of stuff working between me and the coaches.
In ten games this season, Davis finished with 41 tackles and four interceptions. He also recorded two fumbles.
