While the numbers are still working themselves out, we do have a little more clarity when it comes to the Nebraska scholarship situation in 2016.
Defensive tackle Maliek Collins…gone.
Defensive tackle Vincent Valentine…gone.
Cornerback Trai Mosley…gone.
With the signing of wide receiver Derrion Grim and quarterback Patrick O’Brien as early enrollees, the Nebraska scholarship chart for 2016 sits at 66.
So what does this mean?
Nebraska currently has 14 other 2016 prospects committed to the program and waiting to sign their National Letter of Intent.
The Huskers can take five more players before hitting the 85-scholarship mark, eight more before over-signing by three, which the Big Ten Conference allows. This isn’t counting walk-ons scholarships rewarded earlier in the year and thought to be a one season situation.
What are we getting at? Don’t worry about the numbers - they are pretty fluid.
