A defensive end/outside linebacker, Warren Easton Charter high school (LA) prospect Pernell Jefferson, a longtime Oklahoma commit, flipped his verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska on Saturday night. The senior tweeted the news on social media, but confirmed his commitment with Big Red Report in a quote over text message.
According to SoonersIllustrated.com publisher Bob Przybylo, it felt like a countdown regarding Jefferson’s eventual decommitment from Oklahoma.
Jefferson had a decent offer list when he committed to Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners at the time over offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Miami, Missouri, TCU, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, and Utah among others.
"Jefferson showed the ability to consistently fight through traffic to make plays against the run, while also flashing his blitzing ability," said Scout.com regional recruiting analsyt Gabe Brooks, who saw Jerfferson play in October. "He held his own vs. bigger offensive linemen when matched in "phone booth" situations trying to stuff the run. Jefferson also showed he's a reliable, sure tackler."
More to come.
