Offensive tackle Alaric Jackson of Renaissance High School in Detroit is back from his official visits to Iowa and Iowa State. The Hawkeyes and Cyclones are in the mix along with Michigan State and Nebraska for his services. He is approaching a decison as we inch closer to National Signing Day. We're about a week away so the clock is ticking on his college choice.
The official visit to Iowa City received high marks from Jackson.
"They're great people," he said. "I mean, really great. They don't hold back. They're honest. They're pretty swell. I really enjoyed my stay."
The Hawkeyes were quick to point out the strengths of Jackson's game and what he can bring to the squad if he were to sign on the dotted line for Iowa.
"We talked a lot about my raw talent and my work ethic," he shared.
Immediately following his official visit to Iowa, Jackson checked out their archrival Iowa State. He saw a pretty entertaining basketball game when the Cyclones hosted Kansas inside Hilton Coliseum.
"I loved being at the game," he commented on his time in Ames. "I was just hanging out with the guys."
The biggest news to come out of the two official visits was the fact that there may not be a third.
"Possibly not," Jackson answered if an official visit to Nebraska would still take place this weekend.
The three-star senior also pointed out that a visit to Michigan State would not be happening.
A decison on or near Signing Day is expected from Jackson. Stay tuned to Scout for the latest.
