Early Look: Nebraska TE Recruiting

An early look at Nebraska's recruiting efforts when it comes to the tight end position in 2017.

OFFERED WIDE RECEIVERS:

Josh Falo, Tyler JohnsonMajor TennisonJake MarwedeAlexander MarshallCade Otton and Brandon Gaddy

GUYS TO WATCH IN THE 500-MILE RADIUS:

Trevor Kent, Pittsburg high school (KS) – The 6-foot-4, 242-pound prospect already has offers from Iowa State and Northwestern.

He already has the size of a D-1 tight end, but also is an effective defensive end for the Dragons. Last year he anchored a defense that finished the season 9-2 overall.

Dabtre Soarcaco, Cheery Creek high school (CO) – At 6-foot-4, 260-pounds, it’s very easy to project the Colorado athlete as an offensive tackle down the road. He is a huge part of the Cherry Creek run package.  With offers from Colorado and Colorado State already, don’t be surprised if he’s on the Huskers radar.

OVERVIEW:

After failing to land Chase Allen in January and with three graduating senior tight ends, the position becomes one of the biggest needs in 2017 for Nebraska, if not the biggest.

Underclassmen Jack Stoll and Matt Snyder appear to be a good crop of talent going forward, but the numbers depth wise are going to be important. Expect quite a few tight end offers to go out over the next few months.
