Nebraska offers in-state prep and Wyoming commit David Engelhaupt

Nebraska has made a late offer to in-state prep David Engelhaupt.

Nebraska has offered Norfolk Catholic tight end David Engelhaupt, a Wyoming commitment in the 2016 class. The news was first reported by HuskerOnline.com, and confirmed by Big Red Report.

"Yes they offered," said Engelhaupt over a message. When asked if the offer might be a "game-changer" in his recruitment with National Signing Day looming, Engelhaupt responded with a "yes."

Engelhaupt is currently the state of Nebraska's No. 5 player in the Scout.com rankings and was the highest rated player to not have a power-five offer until today.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder camped with Nebraska this summer, along with Iowa State and Wyoming. He also had reported offers form North Dakota, South Dakota and South Dakota State.

Big Red Report will have more on the developing situation in the next 24-hours.
