LINCOLN, Neb. - After impressing his former NFL head coach Mike Riley during the interview process, former Blackshirt John Parrella is back in Lincoln and now the Huskers' defensive line coach.
Parrella spoke with the media for the first time on Wednesday after being hired and says he's extremely happy to be back.
"I'm just trying to get up to speed with our defense," said Parrella, who will get a chance to coach his position players for the first time on Saturday. "I think any former player, who had success at his college, would like to go back and coach there. It's sort of a no-brainer."
Parrella will defintely have his challenges this spring, but looks to be excited for his new opportunithy.
