Graham (Wash.) Kapowsin five-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell (6-7, 318) hadn't immersed himself fully in to recruiting despite landing his first offer over two years ago.
But that hadn't stopped schools from prioritizing the No. 2 prospect in the West and now it is ramping up for him.
"It has been pretty hectic," said Sarell. "I’m getting a lot of coaches messaging me every day and keeping me busy with that, and I'm getting mail every day so it it keeping me pretty busy."
Sarell has offers from all over the country and said a number of them are focusing on him.
"Right now, I'd say Oklahoma is recruiting me pretty well, Stanford, Notre Dame, Michigan has been pretty solid with me, of course Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, UCLA and Alabama has been talking a lot to me too," said Sarell.
Sarell recently visited Stanford for Junior Day and he enjoyed his time there.
"I loved it at Stanford," said Sarell. "It is a great place to be. Coach (Mike) Bloomgren, I talk to him a lot and Coach Tavita (Pritchard) a lot and got to spend time with them and Coach (David) Shaw. I was in contact a lot with Coach (Randy) Hart before he retired. It has been awesome to see that production that Stanford has had."
Notre Dame is next on the agenda for Sarell.
"I'm focused on my next visit and that is to Notre Dame, so we're working on getting out to Notre Dame," said Sarell.
He is also considering some later spring visits to schools like Oregon and UCLA and plans to get back up to Washington again soon.
"I haven't been up to Washington since their games during the season. Coach Pete (Chris Petersen) and Coach (Chris) Strausser are recruiting me there," said Sarell. "Coach (Steve) Greatwood and Coach (Mark) Helfrich are recruiting me at Oregon and Coach (Adrian) Klemm is recruiting me at UCLA."
Nebraska and Oregon State have both been recruiting Sarell as well and Alabama was his first offer from the SEC, Oklahoma first from the Big 12 and Michigan first from the Big Ten.
"Coach Cav (Mike Cavanaugh) at Nebraska and I have a good relationship ever since he was at Oregon State. My sister goes to Oregon State too so Coach (T.J.) Woods is keeping in contact with me. Coach (Mario) Cristobal and Coach Tosh (Lupoi) are staying in contact with me at Alabama. And then with Michigan, I hear from Jim Harbaugh, Jay Harbaugh and Coach (Tim) Drevno," said Sarell.
Sarell had been a basketball player for GK and played AAU basketball but a wrist injury that cost him the early part of the season had him sit basketball season out so he could prepare for track and stay 100%. For camps, he plans to attend The Opening Seattle Regional and hopes to lock in a spot at The Opening Finals.
"I'm going to do the Nike Opening and I would like to do the Opening Finals, I think that would be exciting," said Sarell.
Sarell has his first track meet of the season this weekend.
"I'm really focusing on the shot put this year and hope to have a good year in track," said Sarell.
Sarell has already accepted an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
