Houston Griffith Impressed With Academics at Nebraska

Chicago (Ill.) Mt. Carmel sophomore Houston Griffith, a long, athletic defensive back, recently visited Nebraska and received an offer. He recaps the day here.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's Houston Griffith is one of the Midwest's top prospects in 2018 class.

He now has eight offers after Nebraska became the latest school to extend one his way on Saturday during his visit to campus.

"The visit was overall a great experience because it was my first time down there," Griffith said. "I got to sit in the team meeting, talk with Coach Riley, and got to see a lot of the facilities, weight room and locker room."

While Griffith says all of the football pieces were great, it was actually the academic side which really put the visit over the top.

"My favorite part would probably be the way they presented the academics towards all of the recruits today. Their academic and life skills programs are pretty unique, I haven’t seen that at any other school. Seeing that and hearing about the Nebraska supporting staff was really amazing.

"All the coaches are real cool and they said I would fit good in their style of play."

Griffith holds additional offers from Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Iowa State, Virginia and Michigan State.
