Nebraska Spring: Freedom Akinmoladun

Nebraska defensive end Freedom Akinmoladun knows the spring is an important one after breaking out in 2015.

LINCOLN, Neb. - After transitioning from the tight end to defensive end position last year, yet still playing effectively, Nebraska sophomore Freedom Akinmoladun knows the spring is very big for his progression.

"It's starting to feel natural," said Akinmoladun. "Now that I'm starting to get comfortable with it, it feels good...Coach P is always telling us don't be good, be great. That is what we are all striving for."

Akinmoladun played in 11 games, starting four times. The former Missouri prep had a strong showing during the non-conference portion of the season, but was slowed by a knee injury that cost him multiple games. When he did return for Big Ten play, he didn't look like the same player.

In the video above, Akinmoladun recaps last season and talks about the differences between new position coach John Parrella and former defensive line coach Hank Hughes.
