One player who could be primed to have a breakout spring is Jared Ridder. The Missouri native has the requisite size and shot making to be someone who sees his stock soar, and he got off to a good start at the MADE Hoops Warmup.
This high school season started the true emergence of Ridder, and he is continuing to work hard to improve on his game.
“I have seven offers, and the schools I’ve really been hearing from are Xavier, Arkansas, Florida, Stanford, Belmont, Missouri, Nebraska, Missouri State, and Northern Iowa,” noted Ridder.
He continued, “I was able to make visits to Missouri, Nebraska, Missouri State, and Wichita State.”
This week Xavier Head Coach Chris Mack made the trip to see Ridder at his school and meet with him, and for Ridder that was a good experience.
“It was an awesome visit,” said Ridder of the meeting with Mack. “Coach Mack is a real good dude. I got to sit down with him for a little bit and I really liked him. He asked me to come visit in June, so I plan to do that.”
When it comes to the campus visits, about Missouri, Ridder said, “It was pretty cool. They had a down year, but it was good to see how Coach Anderson kept coaching even though they had a down year.”
About Nebraska, he said, “It is a different level I could see that. Their campus is beautiful and the arena is really nice, so I like the school a lot.”
Another school that has stepped things up recently is Arkansas.
When asked about the Razorbacks, Ridder said, “I don’t know much about them, but they want me to come down for an unofficial and I know they play fast and like to score.”
For now Ridder is simply gaining as much information as he can about the schools recruiting him, and looking for a big spring and summer to help him add more offers.
