Los Angeles (Cali.) Cathedral high school defensive end Hunter Echols, a four-star prospect, released a top ten on Monday night. The UCLA commitment included Nebraska in his top ten. The tweet has since been deleted.
"Echols is an elite pass rusher and projects as a defensive end in college although he plays some outside 'backer now," said Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. "He has a long, athletic frame and just needs to add some size and bulk before he's an impact player at the next level. Of course he has two years to worry about that, for now, his ability to get off the ball and chase down players from behind is exceptional. He's an aggressive kid as well, plays physical and has a great motor to him. He has long arms and does a nice job keeping opposing offensive linemen off of him. He doesn't stay blocked, uses his hands well and can get up the field."
