LINCOLN, Neb. - Speaking with reporters, senior safety Nate Gerry said he saw a lot of consistency by the secondary in Nebraska's 100-play scrimmage on Saturday.
"A lot better than last year," said Gerry. "We emphasized tackling a lot this spring and the scrimmage we improved a lot. We only had one missed tackle the whole scrimmage."
His second year in Mark Banker's defensive scheme, Gerry said the comfort level between last year and this season is night and day.
"Last year you saw me bouncing around a little more than necessary," said Gerry. "At times I was a little uncomfortable back there. If you watch film you can tell I'm a lot more comfortable back there doing the little things right."
In the video above, Gerry talks about the whole group's efforts this spring, including on deep balls - a struggle area for the Huskers in 2015. Plus, he gives some advice to the redshirt freshman making their first appearance in Memorial Stadium.
